We are thrilled to share the highlights from our recent trip to Cardiff, Wales, where we organised the annual Practical & Clinical Microbiology of Anaerobes Course (P&CMAn). The event was a resounding success as always, with glowing feedback from all delegates.
Trefor Morris, Lead Scientist at the UK Anaerobe Reference Unit (UKARU) and host of the P&CMAn commented “The Practical & Clinical Microbiology of Anaerobes course, run by the UKARU in Cardiff is now in its 8th year and I’m very pleased to see that the content clearly appeals to both scientists and medical trainees with the course oversubscribed annually. The feedback we receive is always positive and we use this to adapt and improve the course, so that we continue to provide relevant practical and clinical training for the UK and beyond. I’m indebted to my team for delivering a superb course and of course to our partners Don Whitley Scientific for their support”.
This year, we had the pleasure of welcoming Linda Veloo and her colleagues Kathleen Boiten and Nataliya Hilt, from the University of Groningen. Linda, an anaerobe specialist based in the Netherlands, was particularly impressed with the seamless organisation, the quality of the course itself, which is split between theory and practical, and the excellent catering, transport, and entertainment provided.
Delegate Clara Lina Salazar shared, "I came from Colombia to attend this course. It’s the complete package and very useful for microbiologists. The balance between theory and practical laboratory sessions was ideal. Bethany and her team at DWS did so well organising every detail and left nothing out. The course has exceeded all my expectations and I recommend it 100%."
Spaces on the course are highly sought after and we already have considerable interest in the 2025 course, for which registration will open later this year. To be notified when registration opens, please sign up to the clinical microbiology newsletter linked below.
