To celebrate weights and measures day 2024, we thought we would answer some frequently asked questions.
Is UKAS calibration
|
Our calibration service is very competitively priced and can often be scheduled to take place at the same time as the equipment is serviced, which saves the cost of call outs and reduces machine downtime.
Why should I have my equipment calibrated? |
Having your equipment calibrated to UKAS standards will help provide you with 100% confidence in your work and ensure your equipment and procedures will stand up to scrutiny. Accredited laboratories not only commit to continuous quality improvement but also ensure that testing is performed consistently and without bias. In contrast, non-accredited laboratories are not subject to this recognised robust and independent scrutiny, making it challenging to assess their ability to produce impartial and reliable results.
Are calibration and validation interchangeable terms? |
Calibration and validation are related but distinct processes. Calibration involves comparing the measurement of an instrument or device against a standard to determine its accuracy. Validation, on the other hand, assesses whether a process or system meets predefined criteria and specifications. While both are essential for ensuring reliable measurements and processes, they serve different purposes and involve different methodologies.
