Why do I need an autoclave calibration?
The process of calibration allows us to confirm the accuracy of the machine and its associated displays and recorders by comparing against a calibrated reference standard.
Why do I need an autoclave validation?
The process of validation allows us to confirm that an entire load has achieved the required temperature for the required time. A validation also includes a calibration as part of the process.
Validation is recommended: -
- For new or previously unvalidated loads
- Following changes to previously validated loads i.e. load content, temperature or time
- After major repairs to an autoclave
What equipment will the engineer bring?
The engineer will bring along all the equipment needed, including a chart recorder, probes, and a laptop. The chart recorder is placed close to the autoclave and the probes are fed into the chamber.
When will I be able to see the data?
The data is shown, in real time, on the chart recorder screen and the engineer will be able to explain the results during the visit.
When will I get the certificate?
Your certificate is prepared during the visit and will be sent to the office to be checked by an approved signatory before being issued. Typical turnaround time is less than 5 working days.
