Don Whitley Scientific have worked with Princess Elizabeth Hospital (Guernsey) for several years, having previously supplied them with a DG250. The hospital purchased an A25 Anaerobic Workstation in 2019 (coinciding with their 70th anniversary year) to assist with processing their diagnostic samples and culturing anaerobes such as Bacteroides and Clostridium.
The small footprint of the A25 is ideal for the microbiology laboratory, which previously used anaerobic jars to process around 60 plates per day. We spoke to Uchilla Bhat, Microbiology Lab Manager, who commented that the letterbox was especially useful for facilitating the quick introduction of single plates and that the team had found the workstation to be user-friendly, requiring minimal training thanks to the intuitive touch screen.
When asked why the lab decided to buy a Whitley Workstation, Uchilla remarked:
“The lab has used Don Whitley Scientific to supply anaerobic equipment and autoclaves in the past due to their service and reputation, and we have been very satisfied with the maintenance support we have received.”
In addition to Guernsey’s Princess Elizabeth Hospital, Don Whitley Scientific also supplies the State of Jersey General Hospital. Click here to read what they had to say about their A35 Anaerobic Workstation.
