UKAS Balance Calibration

Don Whitley Scientific (DWS) now offers a UKAS accredited calibration service for DILUWEL gravimetric diluters (and the Dilumat that we sold in the UK for many years) and other types of non-automatic weighing instrument.

Why do you need to have your weighing equipment calibrated?

You may need to demonstrate traceability to international standards but even if you don’t, you need to protect your product, your customers, your efficiency and the reputation of your organisation. Calibration will give you confidence in the ability of your weighing equipment, ensuring that drifts have not occurred for any reason and that the device is working correctly. It will also ensure against inaccurate weighing causing unnecessary costs for your organisation and that your devices continue to be both efficient and economical.

The DWS service

At DWS, we provide calibrations that are performed using calibrated F1 weights (to a maximum total combined weight of 9kg for equipment with up to 4 decimal place resolution) to ensure complete traceability. DWS is accredited by UKAS to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and provides clear, timely, easy to understand documentation detailing measurement data and test results.

Other companies may be able to claim a similar service provision, but our service engineers are not only highly trained to perform the calibrations, they are also trained by the manufacturers to maintain and repair a range of laboratory equipment.

We have engineers based throughout the UK so can usually respond rapidly to requests. Our in-house team co-ordinates customer requests, provides quotations, liaises with engineers, etc, in a concerted effort to provide outstanding customer service. We also consider ongoing training a necessary part of an engineer’s role and, to facilitate this, have bespoke training facilities at our headquarters in West Yorkshire (in the middle of the UK!)
