Reports to: Sales Manager

Role Purpose:


The key purpose of the role is to maximise sales potential and business growth in your sales area. This is coupled with establishing trust and strong professional relationships with customers, and providing a great customer experience.


Essential Attributes:


  • Experience as a laboratory technician in microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical science or similar scientific discipline.
  • Self-motivated and ambitious.
  • Organised, efficient and deadline orientated.
  • Attention to detail and meticulous standards.
  • Hands-on approach and comfortable with daily travel.
  • Clear, confident, adaptable communicator, in written and verbal forms.
  • Inclusive, engaging manner, with a flair for building professional rapport with colleagues, stakeholders and customers / end users.
  • Team player, who is proactive and mindful around supporting colleagues and contributing to the team effort.
  • Independent and decisive, using creative thought and sound logic to identify, prioritise and maximise opportunities.
  • Coachable and open to personal professional development.
  • General IT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.


Desirable Attributes:


  • Microbiology Degree.
  • Some mechanical/electrical ability.


Responsibilities:

  • To achieve the agreed sales target for the company’s financial year.
  • To maintain and improve relationships with existing customers.
  • To maintain and improve sales with existing customers.
  • To prospect and sell to new customers within your sales area.
  • Aftersales support such as training customers and installing equipment.
  • Work with marketing to ensure the correct sales messages are delivered to customers.
  • Attend sales meetings, equipped with pre-prepared information for your sales area.
  • To relay the correct detailed information for the preparation of quotations.
  • Upkeep of records for all your customer transactions.
  • To assist with our export sales as required.
